]]> Racine Library Chess Mates meets are casual chess sessions led by U.S. Chess Federation (USCF) members Edward Larkin and Jeff Garcia. Sessions will be open play, meaning that we will provide chess boards for players to use to play against anyone available. Jeff, Ed or another facilitator may be available to teach and play, but boards will always be available, with or without a facilitator.

Racine Library Chess Mates is a U.S. Chess Federation affiliate club of the Racine Chess Mates, which is a nonprofit partnership between RUSD Extended Learning and EL Chess Academies. It teaches social and emotional learning through chess and hosts Chess Piece Summits at community centers throughout the Racine area.

Empty Bowls Racine is part of a national movement to raise awareness of hunger and poverty. Proceeds from the event will benefit local organizations that are working to address hunger and homelessness in Racine County.
